My second challenge of the day came in the afternoon when I was contacted by our front desk person stating I had a delivery. I walk up and see this:
Assorted chocolates from one of my vendor contacts. Here we go...first I have to deal with burgers, and now chocolate! I was able to restrain, but not completely deny myself. I had two of the chocolates and gave the rest to my team. Win #2
Issue:
I'm hangry.....I ate the other half of my sandwich around 4-ish at work because I was hungry then. I came home and before rehearsal, I ate a salad (which ended up being my wife's). But now I'm hungry....and angry.....and trying not to take it out on my family. Which is why I'm posting here. I know it will get better as I adjust, but right now it's taking all of my willpower to avoid the kitchen. Fortunately it's bedtime.

Hey Nate, don't drastically cut your calories all at once. You don't want your metabolism to go into shut down/starvation mode. If your calorie counter suggests 2600 a day, try to get 2600 calories a day for the sake of your brain, organs and muscles. Don't under cut 700 calories, my friend. As one who has been there don't starve yourself right away, even though you may be trying to kick start the program or you may be tempted to make penance for all the times that you haven't eaten well, don't do that. As a fellow dieter and battler of weight issues, I encourage you to get your calories, don't short yourself and mess up up your metabolism.
Stay strong, but stay balanced.
Gods blessings!

Hey Aaron...you win first commentator award. :)
I appreciate the advice. I am aware of the dangers of going into starvation mode. I'm not there yet. As you're aware, I'm Lutheran so I don't do penance...salvation through grace alone. :) I need the structure and the rigor of the restrictions right away so I have success early - that will set me up long term. Additionally, I need to adjust my stomach's expectations on volume as I have a tendency to gorge due to eating quickly. Additionally, I need to spot check going into this weekend. I need a win to keep me motivated through the holiday - it's very easy for me to say screw it and blow it. :)
Thanks for reading and commenting. Hit me up on FB and let me know how you're doing.
Hey Nato...I know you have a great plan in place...I know WW works too. But I learned about a year ago that what those crazy people who actually said eat something every 3 hours weren't crazy at all. I found when I do that I'm not hangry! Or at least less hangry! Maybe you do that already, but if not maybe give it a try and see if it's something g that works for you.
Whatever you do...You deserve the praise for your first two obstacles!! You've got this! Take care!

Thanks Stoughie....yesterday I did not apply that strategy. That's something I knew, but yesterday made it quite clear that I need to spread things out more.
